Born in Beirut (Lebanon), in 1980, Maya ABDUL-MALAK is a French-Lebanese filmmaker. She has an advanced degree in modern literature. She worked for a few years as a Script supervisor on fiction films and collaborated on the writing of several documentaries in Lebanon and France. In 2010, she made her first documentary film "Au pays qui t'aime", selected in several festivals and Best Documentary Film Award at the Persona Festival. "Standing Men" (2015) is her second film and received an award at the Yamagata Documentary Festival in Japan.
