Graduated in veterinary medicine, Meriem ACHOUR-BOUAKKAZ is an Algerian filmmaker established in Montreal since 2011. She trained in documentary filmmaking at the INIS Institut National de l'Image et du Son de Montréal. She has two films to her credit: "Harguine harguine" (2008) about young people who want to leave at all costs at the risk of their lives, and she co-directed "Nous dehors" which explores the lives of women and their conditions through what they experience in the public space.
