Nathan grew up overseas: in Venezuela, United States, Australia, Pakistan and Kenya. He now makes his home in Nairobi, Kenya. As a young adult, his time in Kenya inspired Nathan to study African History at Stanford University, California. Nathan's honors thesis at Stanford was a research paper and a documentary on the revival of traditional religion in Kenya. He further honed his filmmaking abilities at the prestigious film school at the University of Southern California (USC). Nathan has directed, shot and edited numerous films and videos for corporate clients and has made several award winning fictional short films including KIBERA KID. Currently Nathan is developing a feature length based on KIBERA KID. Through filmmaking and cultural exchanges, Nathan hopes to change the world's impression of Africa and make it a better place for those on the lowest rung of society.

Nathan Collet, 33 anni, nato a San Francisco e cresciuto tra Venezuela, Australia, America, Pakistan e Kenya, ora vive a Nairobi. Ha studiato Storia Africana all'Università di Stanford, dove ha conseguito il Master alla USC Film School. È stato premiato nel 2006 con una borsa di studio, ricevuta per aver scritto una trama per un film nelle baraccopoli di Nairobi. È il fondatore di Hot Sun Films, un organismo nato per contribuire a cambiare la società attraverso l'utilizzo dell'arte e l'uso creativo dei media, sviluppando nuovi talenti tra i giovani della città africane.
