Nse Ikpe-Etim was born in Akwa Ibom on the 12th of October 1970. Her first on-air appearance was at the age of 18 when she anchored a show on the Nigerian Television Authority (N.T.A). She attended the University of Calabar and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theater Arts. She appeared on several stage plays including "Anowa" by Ama Ata Aidoo, "Marriage Of Anansewa" by Efua Sutherland, "Child International" by Wole Soyinka, "Milikin Mata" by Harry Hagher and "Same Page" by Bp Vision, just to name a few. Her career skyrocketed shortly after winning "Best Leading Actress" from the A.M.A.A. (African Movie Academy Award) for the movie "Reloaded". The movie was produced by Emem Isong and Desmond Elliot and was also starring A-List actors and actresses like Ramsey Noah, Stephanie Okereke, Van Vicker and Ini Edo. Professionals in the film industry know her as a versatile actress and have since hired her for her skills in many of their films. She has also revealed to media sources that she enjoys reading, writing, and cooking in her spare time.

Nse Ikpe-Etim's longtime boyfriend proposed to her on Christmas day last year 2012. She is also said to officially get married on the most romantic day of the year, February 14th 2013 (Valentine's Day!).
