Pauline M'Barek wurde 1979 in Köln geboren und studierte zwischen 2000 und 2007 an der Kunsthochschule in Hamburg. 2003 erhielt sie ein Stipendium des Cusanuswerks und absolvierte ein Auslandstudium an der Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille. Seit 2005 ist sie Mitglied des Künstlerhaus Vorwerkstift in Hamburg. 2007 erhielt sie den Karl H. Ditze-Preis für das beste Diplom ihres Jahrgangs. Neben ihren Videos arbeitet die Künstlerin an einer Serie an Zeichnungen, die den piktographischen Aspekt von Weltbildern untersucht; Zeichnung und Video sind in dieser Serie eng miteinander verknüpft. Paulines Arbeiten wurden auf zahlreichen internationalen Ausstellungen und Festivals gezeigt, unter anderem der Kunstfilmbiennale in Köln, Emaf in Osnabrück und Videoex in Zürich.

Born in Cologne in 1979.

Pauline M'Barek joins the Hamburg Fine Arts School ("Hochschule für bildende Künste") in 2000. In 2003 she receives the Cusanuswerk Scholarship. That same year she studied at ESBAM. She joins the Vorwerkstift Artists Union in 2005. In 2007 she obtains the Karl H. Ditze prize for best diploma project. Parallel to her video work, she continues illustrating in order to explore the associations of pictographic images to global images. Her recent videos and drawings are tightly linked. Pauline has participated in a number of exhibitions and international festivals.

She now lives and works in Hamburg and takes part in various exhibitions and films.
