Rebecca is the Managing Director of Busara Promotions, the Zanzibar-based NGO that presents Sauti za Busara music festival each February. Busara Promotions also works throughout the year to increase visibility and accessibility for African music in the region and around the world, to develop skills and opportunities for musicians and music professionals, and to strengthen local creative economies.
Before moving to Zanzibar, Rebecca founded the Tanzania Heritage Project in Dar es Salaam, the primary work of which is the digitalisation of the Radio Tanzania music archives, currently stored on reel-to-reel tapes.
