Robert Nkambo was introduced to film after producing and directing some programs for Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC-TV) in 2000.  From that time till 2008, he directed several corporate documentary films, including Kadogo, Zebu and the Photo Fish, directed by Zipporah Nyarui, 2010 (worked as sound recordist) during the Maisha Film lab of 2010; Catch Us If You Can documentary (as producer and director); Kyosiga's Dream, 2011 (producer/director); Esther, 2012 (producer/director).  In 2012 he completed his 108 minutes feature film Spying on Susana which premiered in August 2013.  In 2013 he participated as the Director of Photography during the production of Behind the Pain TV series which screened on UBC. He is also developing a script for the movie Protected and a TV series A Family in Kampala.  He is currently directing and producing a TV talk show The Exquisite Career Show to screen on Urban TV.

In 1998 Robert Nkambo trained in Radio and TV communications from Conway School of Broadcasting and Communications in Burlington, Canada. In 2000 he attended training in TV programs conceptualization from the Centre Internationale de Formation et Audiovisuel et Production – CIFAP (International Centre for Audiovisual Training and Production), Paris France. In 2001 he underwent training in Dubbing of film from the same institution (CIFAP).  He has also attended the Maisha documentary film lab in Kampala.
