He was a jack-of-all trades,having dabbled as a boxer,taxi driver, truck driver,and ship fireman,which is how he got to England where,alongside Kitchener, Biginner and Roaring Lion,he greatly contribuetd to spreading Calypso's renown beyond the borders of the caribbean community. In 1964,he returned to Trinidad,where he was at last crowned Calypso Monarch two years later.A fitting reward for a formidable true force of nature with a golden voice: in fact,his official nickname is " golden voice".
