Tomasi Domomate grew up on the island of Kadavu in Fiji, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He moved to Suva to study graphic design, screen printing and sign writing at the Fiji Institute of Technology.

His paintings reflect his pride in his heritage, through the use of traditional designs and colours. Tomasi joined the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies in 2009 where he has been able to gain experience by working with senior artists. He has exhibited in several exhibitions including One Hundred Nights of Boso (2009), at The Pearl Resort (2009), The Vonu Exhibition (2009), the ANZ Fine Art Exhibition (2010) and the Climate Change Conference Exhibition (2010).
