Wale Ojo began acting with the first television station in Africa as a child prodigy and star. He turned professional in the United Kingdom at the age of 21. He is the pioneer and founder of the New Nigeria Cinema [movement and production company] whose aim is to improve the quality of Nigerian films. To date, he runs a yearly festival titled New Nigeria Cinema Day at the British Film Institute in London. A great lover of Shakespeare, he is at the moment researching an African movie adaptation of one of the Bard's play.

Wale Ojo gained popularity with the popular comedy series set in London titled MEET THE ADEBANJOS. The series became popular all over Africa and especially in Nigeria. Wale has also starred in several movies notably PHONE SWAP now a Nigerian cult movie, JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN, THE GUARD, HALF OF A YELLOW SUN,THE PHILANTROPIST,FIFTY and so on. Latest releases for 2016 are THE CEO, AYANMA and THE EVENT. Wale is also the founder of a movement and production company called NEW NIGERIA CINEMA due to release its first feature in 2016 titled THE GHOST OF TARKWA BAY.

Wale Ojo is the founder of New Nigeria Cinema. His aim with NNC is to create high quality films from Nigeria. He has a relationship with the British Film Institute for the screening of Nigerian films on a yearly basis. Wale is an accomplished actor who has plyed his trade for over two decades. He has acted in every major theatre in the United Kingdom and has performed in movies with Rowan Atkinson, Don Cheadle, Brendan Gleeson, Gill Scott and so on. His latest film project is a cameo appearance in the film "Half of a Yellow Sun". Wale is very popularly known as Mr. Adebanjo in the series MEET THE ADEBANJOS which is a British Nigerian comedy set in London that has gained success and popularity in Africa and is set to air season 2 late in the year. His most successful film to date in Nigeria is PHONE SWAP directed by Kunle Afolayan which won him a Best Actor award at the NEA's and Ovation events in Lagos last year. Next year Wale Ojo is set to begin pre-production on a new film titled "Kalakuta Express" which promises to be daring and explosive.
