The merger of the Alliance Francaise and the German Cultural Center in order to share the same location on Nakasero Hill in the middle of Kampala has established a quite strong venue for unique cultural events as well as regular film screenings. Naturally more the events may be tied to French and German activities but both organizations have an long term interest in supporting local activities and projects so in fact is an important player in terms of venues for local productions. Though the new location does not have the high visibility of the original Alliance Francaise location at the National Theatre, it has created a high profile for special events, including the regular film screenings that they have been known for for the last several years.
