The Arab Film Festival is now accepting submissions for 11th Annual Arab Film Festival that will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area from the 18th to the 28th of October 2007. AFF annually showcases works by independent filmmakers that provide insightful and innovative perspectives on Arab culture, art, history and politics. This year's festival particularly welcomes Comedies, Animation, Children's Films, and Short Films.

First Arab Film Festival Awards

The Selection Committee will nominate 3 films in each category from the festival official program to participate in the competition. A five-member jury from the Bay Area community will award a cash prize to the director of the film as follows:
Best narrative feature: 2500 USD
Best documentary: 1500 USD
Best short film: 500 USD

Entry Requirements

The selection is based on 2004-2007 productions. All submissions presented to the board of selection should not have been released theatrically or on TV in the Bay Area. Required Formats for the official screening during the festival are 35mm, Beta SP (NTSC) or DVCAM (Except works originally on DVD). All non-English-language entries must have English subtitles for preview and for Festival presentation. Exceptions may be made for entries with little or no dialogue.
