
CAMERAMAN/ DV DIRECTOR
Christian initially studied photography at the National School of Visual Arts in Brussels (I.N.S.A.V). Interested primarily in photography as a social and individual portrait of contemporary day, he concentrates on the personal and the image as a glimpse of the human condition.
Among his exhibitions'Narrow streets', highlighting the plight of Palestinians in Nahr el Bared refugee camp in Lebanon, 'Diving back happiness', a series of written and photographic stories of the life of young Cuban fisherman and his family, with text by Phil Cox.
Christian has also worked extensively in the documentary world. He started as an Editor in Brussels and Marseille and later moved to documentary filming as Director and Cameraman.
He has recently filmed Beirut: All Flights Cancelled for Al Jazeera English during the latest war in Lebanon in July 2006 and Another Darfur with director Chris Milner on the Eritrean-Sudanese border.
His short fiction film Without Whispers, shot on 16mm in Japan and his feature documentary Borsch in Buenos Aires have received very good reviews in various festivals in Europe.
Christian also works as a professional skipper and has sailed the Mediterranean and the Atlantic various times. He has managed all the sea shoots on the 35mm feature film L'Iceberg filmed in the Ras de Barfleur, Normandy.
He has a passion for mermaids from all around the oceans & seas and love squid.
