Applications are invited from African arts and culture journalists (including photo-journalists) working in print as well as film, TV and web-based media to participate in an intensive 7-day on-the-job training and collaborative exchange.

Applications are invited from journalists working in the following countries:

Burkina Faso, Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Applicants must
- Send a one-page summary CV, showing experience and achievements in arts writing and your specific field of knowledge/interest in the arts
- include full name as per passport, nationality, residence, contact details
- Show that you have a minimum of 2-to-5 years working experience in arts journalism in a recognized media
- Be fluent in written and spoken English
- Provide 2 references to be checked - make sure you include e-mail address and phone number of your 2 referees
- Be able to travel to Swaziland and South Africa and have a current passport with at least 3 blank pages for visas
- Depending on your discipline, include one published article or 3 photos or link to one short film/documentary (do not send large files please, rather provide a web-site where this can be seen)
- Write a covering letter of 100 words maximum why you should be selected to participate in this training and collaboration

Please note that successful applicants will be contractually required to provide 4 articles or photo-essays or short films etc (to be decided) to ARTERIAL NETWORK over one year from August 2008 to July 2009. This is a requirement.

In addition to this there will be opportunities for publication, research and development of arts features through MARIMBA: AFRICAN ARTS DIGEST on a selective basis. This is optional.
