Mali: Percussions from Wasulun

Genre : Album
Release date : Friday 25 april 2003
Principal country concerned : Column : Music

Since the djembe has become the favourite percussion instrument of young westerners, we carry on our discovery of great masters, introducing Sega Sidibe, from the Wasulun region in Mali. He has gathered the music and dance forms of his country's main ethnic groups, in their traditional shape (instruments and rhtyhmic specificities). His perfect knowledge of the Malian musical heritage, his virtuosity and the quality of his performances have led him to perform throughout the world. Percussion, songs and flutes flamboyantly illustrate the richness of the Fulani and Malinke cultures.
