Arabic Calligraphy is written with Bamboo, and the colors used are Saffron spice, coffee, coconut and roses, as he tries to stay as close to nature as possible.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"My biggest inspiration in my work comes from Morocco, my home country, my culture, and my religion, Islam. Mainly, I try to show the hidden beauty behind the Arabic writing from Maghreb, knowing that this one is very different in other Arabic cultures and civilizations. The work of the Arabic Calligraphy through its various forms of expression that I paint is my message I try to communicate to the people, for them to appreciate the endless beauty of this art and culture which is mine.

I like the diversity in what I paint, and am very flexible in my styles of drawing, as innovating an idea is always a big source of inspiration for me. I love coming up with new and original ideas in my art, they keep me going.

I work with various materials, the Arabic Calligraphy is written with Bamboo, and the colors I use are the Saffron spice, coffee, coconut and roses, as I try to stay as close to nature as I can. I also use acrylic paint and oil pastels.

And as Leonardo Da Vinci said so well "Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen."
