Set in the villages of Burkina Faso, Delwende is a powerful and vibrant story of a woman's rebellion against anachronistic and sexist traditions. Napoko, a determined mother, has several problems to face. He young daughter is raped and then, much to her distress, Napoko's husband Diarrha wants to rush their daughter into an arranged marriage. When Napoko is accused of witchcraft and infanticide, she is forced to flee to a women's shelter in Ouagadougou.
