Three young people talk about their society during a drought: tradition, conversion, or exoduses, which path should one choose?

During the milet's harvest and the onion-cultivation, three young peasants speak about their life in the Dogon country whereas the drought is becoming worst each year. The old people look at this new generation born during this drought as a "no future generation". What choices do these young people have ? How could they face the transformation of their society and the growing influence of muslim religion ?
