Over a period of eighteen years, fifty-eight men "disappeared". From August 1973 to September 1991, these men are held captive in dreadful conditions in Tazmamart in South-Eastern Marocco to satisfy King Hassan II's desire of vengeance. Over half of them died of long painful deaths and were burried in the courtyard of Tazmamart. After denying for many years the existence of Tazmamart, and because of international pressure, Hassan II released the twenty-eight remaining prisoners on September 15, 1991. That's the year I turned 18.
