Kabelo co-owns and captains his wife's soccer team the Flamingos. With an unending string of losses, and half the players threatening to walk out on him, he feels like he's destroying the team's legacy. Without the team, all that Kabelo has left in his sad life is his day job at a funeral parlour, a headstrong wife and his beloved barstool at the local shebeen. When he is challenged to a match by his old rival Blessing, who heads the winning local soccer team, to either beat them or give up football forever, Kabelo is given the opportunity for redemption. But allowing his brother-in-law, Rasta, to step in and help might not be the best idea.
Featuring an hilarious performances from Trevor Noah as a Mozambican footballer and Kagiso Lediga as Rasta, who recounts the story of the failing soccer team as he is held for interrogation after being picked up at the scene of a crime, Taka Takata is a warm-hearted South African comedy.
