Voices… of filmmakers in the South African movie industry deal with future of the national sector. issues of South African movie genre, progresses, obstacles and ways of finding a place in the globalization.

The majors goals of the documentary are to open the mind of filmmakers (and french filmmakers) about on one side, the challenges that other people faced towards making moving pictures, and on the other side arouse interest about differents ways of thinking films.

Furthermore, South African cinema is mostly known in english spoken countries. The director modestly want to counterbalance this fact and to give an access to french professionals, film-goers, academics to a rich and diverse foreign cinematography.

Voices is an academic documentary directed and produced alongside a Phd in the Science Political Institute of Bordeaux in France. The topic of the thesis in french is the impacts of democratization on a cultural sector : the case of the South African film industry after apartheid.
