Europe, states of law and lands of welcome? Look elsewhere denounces what is happening in many European cities, using Calais as an example. From the expulsion of the "jungle" in October 2016 to the situation on the ground a year later, Arthur shared moments of life with men and women of Sudanese, Afghan, Ethiopian and Eritrean origin and the inhabitants of Calais. By underlining the gap between the field and the official discourse, this film shows us the strategy put in place to dissuade the exiles from staying. With original filming methods and his citizen's eye, the director succeeded in filming the state harassment, the media staging, but also the strength and humour of the exiles.
