In Tunisia's largest steel factory, which is about to be privatised, four workers are suffering from physical and psychological problems after their close colleague died in a furnace explosion before their eyes. The four workers consult a
psychologist in the factory's medical office, who helps them overcome their trauma. We discover through these sessions the intimacy of these four workers: Batfing, the young rap singer and drug addict who pretends to see ghosts, Fethi, the former film projectionist who is going blind, Ali, the pious shop steward who is going through a painful divorce and Tawfik who has just come back from chemotherapy and is fighting for his right to early retirement. A debate on their health problems begins and turns into a broader discussion on the social and environmental conditions facing strong repression by the administration. The younger generation of workers is tired of fighting against the system and wants to leave the factory while the older generation is trying to convince them to take over and unite against the administration that is trying to privatize the factory.
