Against her husband's wishes, Bintou tries to earn money for her daughter's school fees, so she can grow up with the independence and opportunities denied during her own childhood. She sprouts millet, a skill passed on to her by her own mother, but as the business develops her husband doesn't take kindly to the challenges this poses to their traditional roles. A fine short by the maker of The Night of Truth.
