In Revolutionaries Love Life, Hendricks takes a road trip with his brother Daniel, who is not in a good way: drug-addicted, jobless, a baby coming and few prospects. The brothers follow the path of an MK soldier who went to Zimbabwe but died there, his body never making it home. Along the way they talk to South Africans about the past and the present; about The Struggle - exile, violence, losing people, political ideals - and about the struggles that can make up daily life: poverty, memory, loneliness, despair.
While Daniel becomes erratically enthused by the people they meet, their conversations and what he learns, Riaan gets older, wiser and still more melancholic.
