FONIKE is the result of one month spent in Conakry capital of Guinea, west africa with the goal to shoot in video as many hip hop street performances as possible. About 30 bands eventually participated in this project, autoproduced by Jeremie Lenoir and Sega Diallo.
About 4 hrs of edited material, witnessing the reality of Conakry its youth and its music in 2005. Fonike means "youth" in Susu langage.

The film scored high marks in quite a few festivals in France, despite its radical "zero-budget" autoproduction origins. It's been seen at the international short film festival in Clermont-Ferrand, at the international Hiphop film festival in Paris, at the first film festival in Annonay, New generation cinema festival in Lyon...and lots more !

During the riots following the general strike in Guinea in january 2007, the website has become a place for Guineans from all over the world to get uncensored news and support. It became obvious by then that the movie was foreseing these events by portaying this pressured youth from guinea in 2005 which was going to start this revolution two years later. Fonike was then screened at supporting events by non-gov organisation such as survie-france (which leads the fight against the protection of dictatures and the stealing of african resources by the french politics).
