The life of Haitian radio journalist and human rights activist, Jean Dominique, told through historical footage of Haiti; interviews with Dominique and his wife, Michele Montas; and footage shot before his assassination in April 2000.

In capturing the story of Jean Dominique-a broadcaster who ran Haiti's first independent radio station-Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme has also created an essential account of Haitian history. Years in the making, "The Agronomist" is an impassioned triumph.
