Colonel Gerrie Hugo was a seasoned veteran when he was summoned by the then government of South Africa for its 'Total Onslaught' against the ANC. Louise Flanagan was an investigative journalist who specialized in stories about men like Gerrie.
When Gerrie spoke out against the military's operations against the ANC, he betrayed everyone in his life. Mistrusted by the ANC too, Gerrie was an outcast until he met Louise. At first, he used her for revenge and she used him for a story. But over time the relationship grew. Louise became chief investigator for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and Gerrie became her husband and most trusted source.

"Darkly fascinating. Very effective in exposing the neurosis of contemporary South Africa-the violence, the lack of trust, the guilt-and thus revealing the precarious and tenuous nature of its young democracy."-Dr. Simon Lewis, College of Charleston, for AfrLitCine Listserv

"Powerful! Well done!"-Archbishop Desmond Tutu
