British/French pianist and composer born in 1977. James Uhart originally began performing wth bassist Justin Purtill and drummer Julien Augier de Moussac in 1999, at Boston's Berklee College of Music. Since then, they've based themselves in New York City, released three albums, London (2002), Camels Dance (2003) and Time Away (2005) and performed extensively in Eastern USA and the UK, gaining a reputation as ‘A Jazz piano trio, which is making a huge impact (…) exploring boundaries of modern jazz and instrumental music.' (Time Out NY) As well as the three trio albums, James Uhart has recorded two more albums: Conversation (2007) - a duo album with great jazz vocalist Gino Sitson and Light as an Elephant (Soon to be released) featuring his trio + Gino Sitson.
