Arterial Network has had a very busy conclusion to 2015. In the past few weeks, in conjunction with Culture et developpement, Arterial coordinated a very well-attended session during the Africities Summit of African mayors and municipalities in Johannesburg. The focus was on integrating Culture within the work of local authorities and aligning policies to the role of Culture as indicated in Agenda 2063. Immediately thereafter 15 participants gathered for a 2-day Arterial African Creative Cities workshop to explore ways of optimizing arts and culture within city policies, strategies and programmes and facilitating closer engagement between local authorities and civil society organisations such as Arterial Network and others.
