Steve AYORINDE (ستيف أيوريندي) is a Journalist, writer and Researcher.

He is the Arts Editor and Chief Film Critic of The PUNCH, Lagos, Nigeria's largest circulation daily. He was formerly Arts Editor of The Comet and reporter with The Guardian, Lagos. He writes a weekly column, Something Before the Weekend, for The PUNCH, and regularly covers international film festivals and art events.
He was educated at the Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos, both in Nigeria, and the University of Leicester, UK, where he earned a Master's degree in Globalisation and Communications.
A polyglot and multiple wawrd-winning journalist, Ayorinde is also an alumnus of the University of Siena for Foreigners, Italy, and the Goethe Institute, Berlin.
For the 1997/98 season, he was a European Union Fellow at the Fondation des Journalistes en Europe, Paris, France; and was a grantee of the prestigious International Visitors' Programme in 1999 to understudy some American Media and Cultural institutions in the United States.
His research intrests include film as mass communication and non-Hollywood alternative cinema as an example of cultural anthropology.
A member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and the African Federation of Films Critics (FACC / AFFC, Dakar), Ayorinde has served on film festival juries across the world.

Steve Ayorinde is the Chief Critic of Lagos-based news agency The Culture Newspaper. He studied at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and as well as University of Leicester. He worked as a foreign correspondent, editor, critic, newspaper manager, and author. His career started in 1991 at The Guardian Newspapers in Lagos, as a reporter and film/art critic. He also worked as a critic, columnist and later Editor of The PUNCH. He later worked as the Managing Director and Editor-In-Chief of National Mirror Newspapers Between 2010 and 2013. Ayorinde has published several books. He is the Chairman, Governing Board and Jury Member of the African Academy Movie Awards (AMAA).
In 2020, he was a jury member of the Long Narrative competition at 15th Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF - Egypt) along with Gaston Kaboré, Maïmouna N'Diaye, Mostafa Shaban and Saad Chraïbi.

ستيف أيوريندي كبير نقاد صحيفة الثقافة النيجيرية ومقرها مدينة لاجوس. تلقى تعليمه في جامعتي أوبافيمي أولولو النيجيرية وجامعة ليستر البريطانية. عمل ستيف بالعديد من الوظائف منها مراسل صحفي، محرر، ناقد، مدير تحرير ومؤلف. بدأ مسيرته المهنية عام 1991 بالعمل في أهم الصحف الرئيسية بنيجيريا، كما عمل بصحيفة الجارديان والصحيفة النيجيرية بانش كمراسل وناقد فني. ثم عمل لاحقًا مدير عام ورئيس تحرير لصحيفة ناشيونال ميرور منذ عام 2010 وحتى 2013. ألف أيوريندي عدة كتب. حاليًا هو رئيس مجلس إدارة وعضو بلجنة تحكيم جوائز السينما الأفريقية
