Born on 23rd July 1951 in Boulel (Senegal), He studied film at the Ecole Nationale Louis Lumière. He has several years' experience as a director for the Film Department of the Ministry of Culture in Senegal and for the RTS, Senegalese Radio and Television Broadcast Company. In 1985, he won the EEC Prize at FESPACO for the best film on development with " Xareek Maral". He also worked on " Camp de Thiaroye" and " Guelwaar", by SEMBENE Ousmane. In 2001, he won the " PLAN International" Special Prize at FESPACO for the best long feature film about Children with " ALMODOU".
