Miriam Warner-Vieyra was born in 1939 in Guadeloupe. She now lives in Senegal, West Africa where she works as a librarian and researcher at the University of Dakar.
Husband: Paulin Soumanou Vieyra (1925-1987), famous filmmaker.
Daughter: Célia Vieyra (novelist and singer).
Sons: Makandjou Ola Jacques (the elder, COE), and Stéphane Soumanou Vieyra (Yoga Teacher).
