Born 1972, Denmark. Journalist with his own distinctive methods. Has gone undercover and infiltrated various milieus. Engaged by the national broadcaster DR in 1996, where he has created off-beat talk shows and satirical docu series such as"The Red Chapel".

A feature version of"The Red Chapel"came out in 2009, a documentary about Brügger and two stand-up comedians travelling to North Korea under the guise of a communist theatre troup. The film attracted international attention and won the World Cinema Jury Prize in Sundance in 2010. In"The Ambassador"(2011) Brügger is a diplomat-cum-documentarian in the Central African Republic. Selected for competition at IDFA 2011.
