Journalism: various Belgian publications (Dutch and French language); foreign correspondent in Chile for Belgian radio and print media; free lance. Books: North/South solidarity (1991), Dutch translation of Mapuche poet Elicura Chihailaf (Chile), book about South Africa to be published in April 2012 in the Netherlands (Wereldbibliotheek) and end 2012 in South Africa (Real African Books, formerly STE publishers).
Linguistics: research in RD Congo (Libinza), Côte d'Ivoire (Anyi-Baule), Mozambique (dialectology, language policies), South Africa (new language policy). Lecturing: University of Leiden, Netherlands, University Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique.
