Egyptian film director and screenwriter.

Born in 1982 in Alexandria, Egypt, Mahmoud FARAG was a freelance screenwriter and filmmaker. Graduated with a bachelor's degree in education and Arabic language at Al-Azhar University in Cairo in 2005, he then studied screenwriting and cinema at the Cairo Higher School of Cinema in 2010, at within which he writes and directs short films which receive numerous awards at festivals. He became an assistant screenwriter and assistant photographer and at the same time engaged in painting and the creation of artistic installations. He participates in the creation of several films and series. He was also a member of the Egyptian Cinema Professions Union.

In 2011 and 2012 he attended the documentary production workshop of Ateliers Varan where he shot 04-02-2011 then 28-01-11.

He tragically died in a diving accident at the age of 30.
