ust before Cutter Hodierne was born, his parents sold everything they owned, quit their jobs, and bought the 32-foot, cutter-rigged sailboat for which he is named. Hodierne spent the first three years of his life sailing in the South Pacific Ocean. He also toured with U2 as the band's filmmaker on the road before directing the short film Fishing Without Nets, which won the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
Hodierne won the Directing Award for drama at the Sundance Film Festival 2014, with his feature narrative Fishing Without Nets (2013).
