Nigerian filmmaker and novel writer.
Biyi Bandele-Thomas was born in Kafanchan, Northern Nigeria. He studied drama at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. His plays have been produced by the Royal Court Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Half of a Yellow Sun (2013) is his feature directorial debut.

A prolific Nigerian playwright, novelist and screenwriter now based in London, Biyi Bandele makes his feature film debut with HALF OF A YELLOW SUN. This follows his distinguished career writing and directing plays for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal Court Theatre, and writing screenplays for the BBC and international film productions.
