Thomas Jenkoe lives and works in Paris. After studies in litterature, he ended his university years with a Professional Master in cinema at Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne university.

He had his first film experience when he became script writer on Passwonder, a documentary essay directed by Guillaume Massart, with whom he wrote Michael Lonsdale's voice over. The film was shown in the FID Marseilles festival and in the Amiens international film festival in 2009, and was broadcast on CinéCinéma the year after.

Reality is Thomas Jenkoe's raw material, as he sees in it an endless source of stories and complexity. His reality is made of day-to-day experience : he wants to show the unsolvable conflict between beings and existence, sense and non-sense, which affects every individual.

His work is marked by the issues of frontier (mental, geographic, moral and social frontiers), incommunicability and the fate of humans in modern society. Thomas Jenkoe's works show our essential intranquillity.

More than a mere restitution of reality, his artistic approach transforms it through strong esthetic choices, may that be done by using limited cameras (the cellphone used for a Passion), or obsolete techniques such as his photographies series shot in Polaroid or the austere 4:3 video format of his first length-feature, Maàlich.

Willing to move away from the systematic forms of art, Thomas Jenkoe sculpts fragmentary works that question the audience. His installations, which he conceived for the exhibitions DO 1 MOVE Y0U - D1S0RDER & De profundis ad stellam (Galerie G, Paris, 2011), are natural extensions of his works : the interaction with the audience is a way to complete them.
