Fateme Ahmadi is an Iranian award-winning writer & director based between London and Tehran.

She was awarded first prize in the Literature Olympiads, a nationwide humanities competition, granting her permission to complete two undergraduate courses simultaneously in Persian Literature and Filmmaking at Tehran University and The Art University of Tehran. She also holds a Master in General Linguistics from the IHCS in Tehran.

Fateme was awarded a scholarship from Magic of Persia to attend the two-year MA Filmmaking program at The London Film School in 2010. During the course, Fateme wrote, edited, and directed more than ten short films including a few documentaries for BBC World Service. Her graduation film One Thousand and One Teardrops has been shortlisted in more than 50 festivals all around the world with four nominations for the Best Animated Short at the Orlando Film Festival 2014, Best UK Short Film at the East End Film Festival 2015, Best Documentary and the Best Student Film at the Imperial War Museum London Short Film Festival 2016. It also has won awards for the Best Documentary of the Beeston Film Festival 2015, Special Jury Mention at the East End Film Festival 2015 and the Best Short Film award at the London Feminist Film Festival 2016.

Fateme is the writer and the co-director of Chandra produced by Youku (Chinese Biggest Video Sharing Website) and Asian Film Academy (AFA), premiered in the 20th edition of International Busan Film Festival. It has since screened in many more prestigious film festivals including Fribourg, Palm Springs Short Fest, Sao Paulo, Cork, Molodist, East End, Flickers' Rhode Island, London Short Film Festival and Festival Del Film Locarno.

Chandra was Nominee for the Best Short Fiction at the Fribourg Film Festival, Nominee for the Golden Egg at the Reykjavik International Film Festival and has two Special Jury Mentions in the Short of The Year Summer - Promofest and in the15th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF).

Fateme is an alumna of Berlinale Talents 2017 and her latest short film Bitter Sea is a London Calling Plus awarded fiction commissioned by Film London. It's had its home premiere at the London Short Film Festival LSFF in January 2018. Her last project is another short film, LEILA'S BLUES, set in Tunisia as a part of Tunisia Factory and codirected with Ismaël (Tunisia). The short was premiered in Directors' Fortnight - Cannes in May 2018 and simultaneously released in several Tunisian cinemas.

She currently works as the associate producer on a feature documentary titled Coup 53 directed by Taghi Amirani and edited by legendary Walter Murch.
