Jamil is a filmmaker and photographer from Germany, residing in Brooklyn, New York. As a writer and director, Jamil collaborates with Pat Heywood under the name Seneca Village Pictures. Their work has been featured on PBS, NOWNESS, TIDAL, NPR, NoBudge, and screened at the New Orleans Film Festival, Rhode Island International Festival, Film at Lincoln Center, and the Walker Art Center. He is currently editing his first monograph, a body of work spanning two years and titled Things You Know, to be published in 2020.
