Fatima Harani'Raouia'

"[In 2011, when the National Film Festival in Tangier paid tribute to her,] the artist had, for the past few days, experienced the greatest happiness of her professional life. ‘I don't know how to express my joy at receiving this tribute, which I consider as honoring all actresses in Morocco.' Known for her modesty and her simplicity, this hugely talented actress stands out for her sense of humor. […] Thanks to a remarkable artistic career in which she excelled in her interpretation of complex roles, over the years she has built up great popularity among her fans. […] ‘I feel as if acting flows through my veins.'"

Fatima Harandi "Raouia" started out in theater, and made her movie debut in the 1990s, thanks to the Moroccan director Mohamed El Abbazi, who offered her a role in his film Les Trésors de l'Atlas. Her talent and energy were soon sought by filmmakers such as Saâd Chraïbi, Jillali Ferhati, Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, and Narjiss Nejjar. Fatima Harandi "Raouia" also broke through on the international stage, working on many films, including And Now Ladies and Gentlemen by Claude Lelouch, Stranded by Hugues and Sandra Martin, and Of Gods and Men by Xavier Beauvois.
