Located in Belo Horizonte, The Casa Africa Cultural Center (CACC) began in September of 2003 as the inspiration of a Senegalese man named Ibrahima Gaye. The mission of CACC is to promote, and spread all forms of Afro Brazilian and African culture. To this regard, Casa Africa organizes socio-cultural and educational activities in the community, such as presentations, expositions, shows, and seminars. The result of these activities exposes the contribution of African people in the construction of a new Brazilian identity.
Since 1999, the projects developed through the vision of Casa Africa's founder have culminated in the inauguration of a beautiful African culture reference centre, located in the State of Minas Gerais. It serves as a communal space of mutual cultural discovery, opportunity, economic development, and the strengthening of human relations.
