Times : 00:00
Principal country concerned : Column : Music, Dance, Intercultural/migrations

A benefit extravaganza concert donated by the fabulous ARK Jammers, including a guest performance by the famous and electrifying Kankouran West African Dance Company.
During the concert, the ARK Jammers and the African Diaspora will honor and welcome some DNA-Certified African-Americans who have traced their origin to a specific African country.

This exciting concert will provide a great platform for the D.C youth professionals to :
=> raise awareness about the magnitude of the issues concerning the vulnerable children and their most urgent needs
=> encourage, motivate and facilitate the African Diaspora to come forward and help make a difference in the lives of children in need in D.C.

The ARK Jammers'09 project would expose the DC-based vulnerable youth to the African history, culture and heritage; and through cultural education, motivation and mentoring, the program could contribute to giving those youth a sense of belonging and helping them expand and empower their minds
