Moroccan filmmaker and composer.

Kamal KAMAL (born as Kamal Eddine BENABID) is a film director, screenwriter, producer, and music composer.

He is known for the movies QUE D'AMOUR (2024), NADIRA (2018, released in 2021), SOTTO VOCE (2013), LA SYMPHONIE MAROCAINE (2005), TAYF NIZAR (2001).


Born in 1961 in Berkane, Morocco, he studied solfège and Gharnatie music at the conservatory of Oujda, from 1971 to 1978. Then, he enrolled in the faculty of the same city, section French literature. In 1986, he organized the festival of popular arts of SAIDIA, then, two years later, he managed the Rai music Festival in Oujda. From 1993 to 1996, he studied script writing at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma (CLFC) in Paris. Since 1997, he has participated in the production of numerous video clips, commercials and works for Moroccan television.
