BIOGRAPHY

This warrior musician, multi-instrumentalist born in the kasbah of Algiers (composer-songwriter and producer) always militated for a free creation.
Off track artist , independent militant, productor of his own first LP Rahmann with Didier Lockwood (polydor-1980)

Leader of the "TAG" (Tradition and Avant-garde), movement of which he is the creator since 1973, he transposes his Afro-Asian origins (he studied with the largest Masters the instruments and musics Persian (tar/Santur) Baul, Gnawa and Indian...) to sonorities most current jazz electro and rock to draw from it a powerful and subtle, unexpected and captivating music.
A talent, placed a long time at the disposal of other artists,
such as Nico (egery of the velvet), Sapho, Jean-Louis Aubert, Jami Catto (Faithless), Mickael Riley (Steel Pulse), Mickael Hutchence (INXS), Keziah Jones or Sting ...

In 1996, with Talisman, an incomparable disc where he plays, on his own, of all the instruments (dilruba, santur, saz, afghani rebab, indian harmonium, sitar, computer and keyboards), he reveals his talent of soloist, mixing with subtlety the electronic and acoustic spaces. Recorded at the Dragonfly Studios / Youth/ London) and applaused by the international electro scene, Talisman was also played during the full Jean Louis Aubert "Stokholm Tour" 97/ 98.
In 2007, always of topicality, Youth in its compilation "Illumination" selected the title "Concrete Sunblock".
Guests appears in 2 tracks : Dierdre from Ekova and Duncan Bridgeman, at the flutes & Didgeridoo on "Voodoo Valley", Nigel Heaton (Jimi Page,Robert Plant's Hurdy-Gurdy player) on "Angel in the Bath".
The very talented Duncan (Natacha Atlas, Nitin Shawney, Paul Mc Cartney), did the mix at Moody Studio . The uncontested notoriety of Mad Sheer Khan in the world of the electro underground goes back from Nasha in collaboration with Australian Gus up to Aqua Suffi with Simon Postford (Hallucilogen). In 2007, always of topicality, Youth (Killing Joke) in his compilation "Illumination" selected the title "Concrete Sunblock".

Signed in 1999 by the prestigious house of Erato disc, represented in the United States by Atlantic Records Company, he composes and produces the incredible one and essential, "1001 nights", pacifist disc to unify who brings together 7 female vocalists from the world to interpret songs based on poems from 1001 Tales of the Arabian Nights in their own native tongues : Navajo-Mary Redhouse, Malian-Mamani Keita, Algerian-Fela Ababsa, Israelian-Nourith, Iranian-Parvin Gavdan, Tibetan-Kunchok Lama and Indian-Sharmila Roy .

With his album, "Samarkand Hotel", Mad Sheer Khan revisited the work of Hendrix through the sound of his Dilruba (rare violin of Rajasthan, boosted with the wha-wha and the distortion), ?? transposing the universe of the Voodoo Child in a timeless dimension, almost unreal, mixing ritual trance with a virtuosity and a rare richness of sonorities that the legendary left-handed person would undoubtedly not have disavowed... ". He ressuscites Hendrix for our greater happiness, with a splendid and incomparable style.
