Prince fled Liberia when he was 9, leaving his brother and best friend at the mercy of 18 years of struggle.
While he grows up to become one of the world's best football players, Prince ignores the gloomier outlooks of Courage and Gloria. The former becomes a ruthless rebel leader, while the latter turns out being a camp sex slave.
The war ends, Prince is now 27, he leaves Europe for Liberia, thinking he will catch up with the past and bring hope to the post-war generation.
