A Ilha Josine, petit village du Sud du Mozambique, la vie tente de reprendre un cours normal après des années de guerre et de combats. Parfois ennemis pendant la guerre, les habitants doivent réapprendre à vivre ensemble et à oublier ce passé douloureux. Chacun s'aide de ses croyances religieuses ou bien encore de rituels traditionnels pour trouver la force d'oublier et de cohabiter.
