"Barka" means blessing, gratitude and reciprocity.

The film deals with the themes of the BARKA Burkina Consortium, a concerted effort to achieve the UN's Millennium Development Goals in Burkina Faso, which has set "Clean Water For All" as its first initiative. The film also integrates themes of co-creating a culture of peace and indigenous spiritual wisdom, necessary ingredients, the film posits, in getting us out of the mess we're in as a global village. Based on indigenous prophecy, that time is now.

The film is being produced by BARKA Networks, the film production division of The BARKA Foundation.
