Through the power of the words of women who regain control of their lives after having suffered domestic violence, "Sortir de l'ombre" sheds light on the emancipating life stories of inspiring Quebec women from West Africa. Far from prejudices, the film breaks taboos by giving access to an intimate universe that is little known, and bears witness to the tremendous feeling of power that comes from ending isolation and accepting oneself. A luminous dive into the heart of a quest for personal healing, of a universal humanity. This is the third documentary by the Togolese-born director.
